With the introduction of more 12v equipment on-board in the cab, a common scenario is that many drivers wake up with a flat starting battery. This is mainly due to driver abuse in using a plethora of ‘unknown' 12v equipment on board, operated via a 24/12 dropper.

The SCS system provides a single, deep-cycle, cyclic, sealed 12 volt battery, as a 12 volt reservoir, charged by an OSCA-P 24v-12v charger, which is topped up (charged) only when the vehicle is on the move. It stops charging the moment the vehicle engine is switched off.

When parked up, the driver uses this reservoir, which should last three to four hours, to power his 12 volt equipment (inverter, television, play station, fridge etc.), emptying the 12volt reservoir without compromising the 24 volt system. This is a simpler, more effective concept than one employing an electronic based load-shedding        approach, which, in the worst case, can leave the vehicle battery in a highly discharged state.

With an SCS, the   driver wakes up with a full 24v starter battery, ready to go, without the need for a call out or jump-start.

The SCS is a single box, which can easily be located under the bunk.

It can be installed in approximately one hour by a competent electrician, in most cases using all or part of the existing wiring.

Several battery sizes are available
